True Leader’s Credentials

12 05 2010

The true leader’s credentials are his testimonies.  When a leader lacks testimony he is reduced to a figure head.

It is however important for every Christian leader to know and understand that there are 2 levels of testimonies viz:

–       The testimonies of men, and

–       The testimony of God.

Men testify of the works of a leader – they talk about his impact and effect among them.

But God testify of his qualitative walk with Him.  This is far more important and valuable.

Often a leader is easily carried away by the testimony of men because in a way it gives him certain credibility and commendation that is short-lived and limited to this world.

Apparently the commendation of men becomes his motivation and in the process of time, rather than abiding in the will of God he may switch off into doing things that will keep him in the “good books” of men.

We must keep seeking how to do the will of God thereby getting His approval because His approval is superior and more rewarding than men’s commendation.

Everywhere God speaks of His servants; He commends the quality of their walk with Him and not quantity of their work for Him.

Concerning Jesus, He openly declared,

…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Matt 3:17; Lk. 9:35

And of Job He said to Satan,

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Job 1:8

Also about Enoch, the scripture testified:

And Enoch walked with God…” Gen 5:22, 24.

A true leader’s priority is to please God rather than to impress men.  This to me is the measure of a good leader’s credibility.
