“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”. -1Cor 2:9.

I recall a story we were told in the Teens class when we were growing up about three friends with the name Faith, Hope and Love who were promised supernatural visitation in a vision.

Faith, Hope and Love made adequate preparations in their separate abode in anticipation of the arrival of this majestic guest that would change their lives for good.

They had their house cleaned, prepared mouth watering dishes and waited patiently for the arrival of their guest.

After much waiting and road watching Faith saw a figure from afar and stood up to gaze: instead of the guest, it was a beggar. Faith went back to his seat and the beggar came and beseech him to feed him as he was very hungry. Faith in turn replied “this dish I have here is for an important guest who haven’t shown up. Try somewhere else beggar because I have FAITH that my guest is on the way.

The same beggar also visited Hope and the same conversion transpired between them both except that Hope said “Try somewhere else beggar because I have HOPE that my guest is on the way.

Finally, the beggar went to our friend ‘Love’ who saw him from afar and ran to help the beggar with his loads and gave him some water to drink after which he looked at the palatable dish he had prepared for the guest he was waiting for and said “I haven’t seen my guest yet. Why don’t I give this beggar who needs this meal now; after all, whenever my guest shows up, I can always prepare another meal for Him.

That was How Love not only entertained The Guest unknowingly but became so great in his endeavours while Hope is still hoping and Faith still believing the coming of the Guest.

  • Solomon loved the lord; He stood out supernaturally in his days. (1Kg3: 3, 1Kg4: 29-34)
  • Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach, and Abednego loved the Lord – they supernaturally prevailed in the land of their captivity. (Dan 1:8, Dan 3:1-28, Dan 6:1-23,Sos 8:6)
  • Job loved the lord, he emerged the greatest of all businessmen in his days. Job 1:1-3, Job 13:15, Job 42:10, 1Jn 4:20-21.

But we must endeavor to continue to prove the sincerity of our love through through OBEDIENCE (Jn14: 21, 1Jn5: 3) and GIVING (2 Cor 8:8, 1Jn3: 16-18)
