Two Can Resist Him

29 08 2010

Two are better than one; if one of them falls, the other will help his partner up. Moreover, an attacker may defeat someone who is alone, but two can resist him; and a three-stranded cord is not easily broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Complete Jewish Bible)

Because the darkness has waged war against the Light, we can take such fierce hits from the enemy at times that it literally knocks the spiritual wind out of us. This is why it is so important that we have other children of Light surrounding us at all times. Through their hands—and through the words they speak—God will lift us up, mend our wounds, strengthen, encourage, and teach us, then set us right back on course to finish what He has called us to do. Therefore, the company we keep is not only vital for our happiness and fellowship, but ultimately, even determines the extent of victory we experience in our lives.

Abba, it is with overflowing gratitude that I thank you for all the Godly friends You have given for my life. Friends who agree that You are faithful to perform Your Promises, refusing to agree with the word of darkness when it rears its ugly head. Thank you, Father, that greater is Your Light in me than the darkness that is in the world. And, for the friends You have sent to remind me of that every time I get knocked down. I plead the blood of Jesus upon all my friends, Father—the blood of Your Passover Lamb sprinkled upon each of their doors and lintels—covering all the works of their hands, all their offerings, and all the plans and purpose You have authored for their lives, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another… (Hebrews 10:24,25 NKJV)

I happened upon your post through a Google Alert I set up on the phrase, “plead the blood”. Many of the “hits” I get on my blog are from searches on that phrase which I wrote about in 2006. You might be interested in reading what God showed me about that phrase at: Scroll down to Plead The Blood. Be Blessed!
