Christianity is not a Religion

Then what is it? Just calm down and I will explain this to you via the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Firstly, what is a Religion? A religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a supernatural agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs to please a superior creature”Web defined

According to the above mentioned definition, religion is meant to be a step by step ritual governed by man made / invented laws.

E.g: “You are not allowed to enter the church with blond hair, always kneel down when praying to God as he will not answer when you stand to pray or laws like “Don’t heal the sick on the Sabbath which Jesus really had a hard time believing Himself.

Religion is made up of laid down rules with instant judgment when broken either spiritually, physically or mentally. Therefore, people get scared in obeying these laws and religion via eye service so as not to get these punishments inflicted upon them

God is not looking for eye services but Heart Service.

Christ came to fulfill the law and religion and gave us a new Law “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil” Mat 5:17.

Christianity is no longer a religion as it was but a personal relationship with God.

Look at David – He broke lots of Laws but his relationship with God was firm; He was called a man after Gods own heart.

The Love of God should be working like fire in the heart of every believer for the liberation of mankind across the nations.

God’s presence powered by His Love is the magnetic force that causes a release of the supernatural.

If God loved us so much as to die for us, what do we give him in return but much love? “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” – John 13:34

  • He is not interested in our religious practices
  • He is not interested in our burnt offerings “If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?”Psa 50:12-13
  • Neither in our Money “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.”Hag 2:8
  • Nor in our eye service as men pleasers but in our love for him.

When you love your neighbor, you will do every thing in your power to obey him and not hurt him.

Likewise our relationship with God – it should be on the platform of our love for God. This is the only way to boost up a personal relationship with Him.

This is very true Issac. Our relationship is one of “love” not rules and regulations. However, His Holy Laws (Ten Commandments) are based as follows. The first four show how we can “love” God, the last six show how we can “love” our fellow man. When we obey and practice them we do indeed “love” God.
